about

Paradise Syndrome is being released on Freshly Squeezed as the follow-up to Jenova Collective’s 2017 EP My Bad Alice. After gaining international fan support for their energetic shows and exhilarating festival performances, the band is looking to cement their position as something of a rarity among other electro-swing acts as an artist that can deliver both in the studio and in the live arena, with this eclectic 4-track EP.
My Bad Alice presented Jenova Collective as a progressive electro swing group fusing a broad sweep of musical genres in a way that felt as effortless as it was unconventional. Paradise Syndrome picks things up right where My Bad Alice left off, stepping up the pace and further bridging the gaps between gypsy-swing guitars and drum’n’bass breaks with dubstep-inspired wobbly synths, only to flow back into a swinging instrumental groove, backing the soulful vocal performance of their enigmatic front-woman LouQ (pronounced Luke!). In short, it’s a bomb!
Jenova Collective have been playing together as a 7-piece ensemble ever since their days as students at Leeds College of Music in 2014. Since then, they’ve had their dancefloor-ready productions and energetic live shows seen and heard on festival stages from Europe (Glastonbury, Boomtown, etc.) to Australasia and back, bringing with them a unique blend of vintage remixes, garage, drum’n’bass and gypsy-jazz.
Freshly Squeezed are proud to present Paradise Syndrome to all of Jenova Collective’s fans. We believe it marks an important step in the band’s development towards a more confident artistic expression, one that simply cannot be emulated without the live instrumental performance of an experienced band and their charismatic singer.
Paradise Syndrome is coming out on May 11th, 2018, ahead of the busy festival period. Keep your eyes open for Jenova Collective’s live dates this summer!
